HARRISON, John Burn
The first factual mention of John Burn HARRISON in any document we've been able to find is 16 May 1848, when he appeared on the passenger list of the ship "Constance" on the day it left London, England for Adelaide, South Australia. At the time he gave his date and place of birth as 12 December 1823 in London. The same information was in his employment papers in St Peter's College in Adelaide, and in his naturalization papers in San Francisco, California in 1873. But, even with a date and city, I cannot find anything more about his past. I can't find any John HARRISON who was born in London on that date, although I'm sure there are parish and governmentl records I haven't seen yet. I tried the assumption that his middle name was his mother's maiden name, but that hasn't produced any results, either.
