Neutomischel - Nowy Tomyscl

Nowy Tomyscl was our first stop.  The town center is largely unchanged since before the war.  The only major changes were the language of the signs, the Neumarkt had been turned into a small park, and the loss of the steeple on the evangelical church.   Pictures 3, 4, and 5 are of the north side of the former Neumarkt (now Plaz Chopin).  One of these shops used to be the dry goods store of my mother's uncle and aunt, Otto and Ida (SCHULZ) GRÖGER, but I haven't figured out which one.  My mother learned to sew in that shop while her grandmother sold farm produce in the Neumarkt across the street. Anyone out there know which shop it was?

The entrance to the old evangelical church, looking east . Comparing this to Picture 1, you can see that the steeple is missing, but there's no indication of where it was on the church itself.
